Zoey Alexa Miller, age 12, passed away on August 8, 2014, with her father, Michael Joseph Miller, mother, LeAnn Kaye Miller, and brother, Miles Austin Miller. She was born May 24, 2002, in Frisco, TX. She attended Hilltop Elementary and was entering into sixth grade at Argyle Intermediate School.
Zoey was full of fun, friendship, laughter, and nonstop smiles. She was involved in band, volleyball, basketball, softball, cheerleading, community plays and Girl Scouts. She, like her mother, surrounded herself with family and friends. Zoey was a great adventurer. She loved trying new things, regardless of what it was such as sports, swimming, hiking, riding horses, raising and rescuing animals, diving, crafts, cooking, art and anything else that came her way. No adventure was too big or too small. She also like her mother enjoyed history as she collected antique and American Girl dolls. She was always excited to find a unique item to add to the collection.
The shape of Zoey that will not be filled is her inability to hold back a smile, quick shrug of her shoulders, sudden bursts of spontaneity, and care for the well-being of others. As long as she was engaged with something that she loved doing or with someone whom she loved being with, there would always be a smile found trying to find its way out. And how I and others would likewise try to make her subtle smile run wide; since to us, her smile was a telling sign of how well she loved life even in its simplest or hardest moments. Though, she would not admit it, she loved to smile to let us know how well she was loved and how much she likewise loved us.
And her care for the well-being of others was willed to her by her mother - whether it was innate or taught in time, it was there.
Zoey is preceded in death by her grandfather, Gene Robertson. She is survived by her brother: Cory Dixon of Argyle; sister, Macy Miller of Frisco; grandparents: Pat Robertson of Dakota City, NE, Darrel and Sue Lieber of Sioux City, IA, and William and Nancy Miller of Mt. Vernon, TX; uncles and aunts: Jill (Max) Schubauer of Gibbon, NE, Melissa Masmar of South Sioux City, NE, Craig (Sarah) Lieber of Woonsocket, SD, Michele (Robert) Taylor of Allen, TX, David (Liz) Miller of Agoura Hills, CA, and Joel (Jesse) Miller of Houston, TX; numerous cousins.
