William Aldredge ' W. A.' Barker, Jr., 90, of Denton, died Wednesday, January 18, 2006 at his home. He was born June 10, 1915 in Justin to William Aldredge and Mattie (Cole) Barker. He was married to Emma Nell Leverett on November 20, 1942 in New York, she died in 2003. He was a member of the First Baptist Church, Masonic Lodge, Dad Pender Council, Amateur Radio Club, SPAN Board Member, First Baptist Church Council, Southwestern Baptist Seminary Council, and the Hawaii Baptist Academy, and the Amateur Radio Relay League, and the Good Samaritan Village Board Member. He was Self employed in Investments and rental Property, and had previously worked for Trinity Steel. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. January 21, 2006 in the Cindy Nichols Chapel of the First Baptist Church, with Rev. Cliff Feeler, officiating. Burial will follow in the Justin Cemetery in Justin. The family will be at the funeral home for visitation from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Friday, January 20, 2006. Memorials may be made to the W. A. Barker Memorial Fund, c/o North Star Bank, P. O. Box 430, Denton, TX 76202, Acct. # 2198258. Mr. Barker is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Susan Jane and Ray Harbin, of Lewisville, Brother, Charles E. Barker, of Stuart, Iowa, and two granddaughters, Claudia Harbin, of Lewisville, and Kathy and Terrry Shilling, of Denton, and Great Grandchildren Zackary, Brittani, and Kaitlynn Shilling, all of Denton. He was preceded in death by a son Timothy W. Barker.
