William "Lane" Taylor, 79, of Rhome, TX, peacefully passed away, August 18, 2020, at home, after a long fight with Dementia. Lane was born, August 23, 1940, in Denton, TX to Raymond and Ethel Taylor. He was one of six children. Lane was married to Virgie "Marie" Taylor, his wife of 53 years, on October 27, 1967. Lane grew up farming alongside his father in south-west Denton and south-east Wise counties raising cattle and small grains crops. After his father retired, he continued the family farming business. For more than 50 years, Lane could be found in a field on a tractor, combine, ATV or truck working the land and cattle to provide for his family and society.
Lane is survived by his wife Marie, son John Taylor, his wife Tamara and their two children, Blake and Tara Taylor all of Rhome, daughter Wanda Wachowski, her husband John, and her children Dakota Davis, his wife Karena and Raylen Davis of Fort Worth; twin sister Wilma "Jane" Johnson of Olney, sister Emma Kelly her husband Colin "Cokey" of Newark as well as a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, cousins and friends.
Lane was preceded in death by his father and mother, Raymond and Ethel Taylor, sister Mary Dill and husband John "Harold", brother Raymond "Buster" Taylor, and brother James Taylor.
You may pay your respects to Lane and his family on Saturday from noon to 4pm at Mulkey-Bowles-Montgomery Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, the family is asking donations be made to the Justin Community Volunteer Fire Department PO Box 613 Justin, TX 76247
