February 16, 1943 – March 8, 2021
William "Bill" Richard Kobe, 78, passed away Monday, March 8, 2021, after suffering a stroke on February 27. He was surrounded by his four children, when he passed peacefully.
Bill was born on February 16, 1943 in Cleveland, OH to William and Julia Klinc Kobe. He was the oldest of 4 children and had a strong Catholic upbringing. As a child, he enjoyed playing baseball and started working at a young age as a caddy at the local golf club.
Bill received a Bachelor's degree in physics with a minor in mathematics from the University of Dayton, and a Masters of Business Administration at Indiana University. That is where he met his beloved wife, Laura Lynne Starr.
Bill and Lynne were married on April 8, 1967. They had four children and ultimately settled in Denton, TX, where they remained until her death in 1992.
Bill worked as a Salesman and Sales Manager for Nekoosa Papers and Georgia Pacific for over 40 years. He loved his work and made life-long friends through the relationships he made. His work required a great deal of travel, but he somehow found the time to attend the many sporting events, dance productions, piano recitals, orchestra/band concerts, and drill team performances of his four children.
Bill enjoyed a wide variety of hobbies throughout his life. He participated in a Barbershop Quartet and was invited to sing with the Vocal Majority. He played the guitar, ukulele, and accordion. He played golf. He enjoyed fishing. And, he was a talented wood-worker.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents, and wife, Lynne.
