Bill was born in Louisville, Kentucky on January 1, 1947 and died on July 23, 2017 in Denton, Texas at the age of 70.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert J. and Ruby F. Stewart. He was a devoted husband, father and PawPaw.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Margaret "Peggy" Stewart; daughter, Paula Stewart Bates and son-in-law, Josh Bates; three grandsons, Tyler Bates, Cameron Bates and Jackson Bates; all of Denton, Texas. He is also survived by sister, Barbara Bruce of Delray Beach, FL; brothers, Bobby Joe Stewart of Coeur d'Alene, ID, Barry Stewart, Louisville, KY.
Mr. Stewart was a graduate of Male H.S. of Louisville, KY. He served his country with honor in the U.S. Navy in Vietnam from 1967-1968 aboard the USS Newport News.
He retired from Tube Turns after thirty-one years in 1996; after that, he worked for Cunningham Golf Car Co., Louisville, KY and Duckers Golf Course, Frankfort, KY.
He loved his family and friends, golf and horse racing.
