William Davis McSpedden, 86, of Ponder, died Tuesday, March 18, 2008 at Parkland Memorial Hospital in Dallas. He was born December 11, 1921 in Pilot Grove, TX to the
Rev. T. H. and Hazel (Hampton) McSpedden. He served in the U. S. Army in World War II. He was married to Edna Earle Williams on September 23, 1947 in Frisco, TX. He is a member of the Ponder First Baptist Church, and was retired from Moore's Business Forms as a Warehouseman, and later worked for Loomis Armored Services.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday, March 21, 2008 in the First Baptist Church of Ponder, with Rev. Kim Broadstreet, officiating. Burial will follow in the Sanger Cemetery. The family will be at Mulkey-Mason, Jack Schmitz and Son Funeral Home, 705 N. Locust, Denton for visitation from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. on Thursday, March 20, 2008.
Mr. McSpedden is survived by his wife, Edna Earle McSpedden, of Ponder, two daughters and sons in law, Shirley and Gary Pirkle, of Sanger, and Barbara and Ed Berryman, of Ponder, and a son and daughter-in-law, Davis Earl and Selina McSpedden, of Sanger, He is also survived by six sisters, Helen Sullivan, of Sinton, and Lynette Renner, of Denton, Louise and husband Robert Durham, of Freeport, Ruth Miller, of Joshua, Ann Edwards, of Santo, and Lavelle Sheldon, of Somerville, and a brother T. H. and wife Jo Ann McSpedden, Jr. of Frisco. Eight grandchildren, Melissa Lake, Kendra Sebastian, Kelly Pirkle, Rodney Brown, Jeffrey McSpedden, Stacy Schertz, Justin McSpedden, and Jennifer McSpedden, and Thirteen Great grandchildren.
