William U. Fuller
Today we celebrate the life of William Uriah Fuller, who went to live with his Lord Jesus Christ on June 5, 2010, at the age of 86. Bill, as he is known by family and friends, was born in Geneva County, Alabama, December 30, 1923, and was the son of Augustus D. and Annie Florence (Wilson) Fuller.
Bill's wealth of family and friends joined him in pride in his many accomplishments enjoyed throughout his full life. Bill was a World War II naval veteran, serving in the Pacific aboard the escort aircraft carrier USS Hollandia. He returned to rejoin his civilian employer, the Missouri Pacific Railroad where he went on to eventually retire as General Sales Manager from their Austin, Texas office after over 40 years of dedicated service. Bill also took great pride in his participation as a Master Mason for more than 50 years.
A large span of Bill's life, love and civic service was spent in the Austin area and nearby communities. He had many treasured friends there. Bill moved to Denton, Texas in recent years to be near his sons and their families, and rapidly established endearing friendships through his membership in Hickory Creek Baptist Church. Bill also found great joy in his domino partners at the Denton Seniors Center. Bill truly embraced his strong Christian faith, and everyone that knew and loved him take comfort in knowing with great certainty that today he is in the presence of his Lord and embraced in the fellowship of a host of friends and family that had gone on before him.
