William Robert Dobbs, 67, of Denton, TX, passed away on March 21, 2022 after a 20 year battle with heart disease.

William was born on January 22, 1955 to William Richard Dobbs and Vera Doris Hanson in Hobbs, NM. After high school he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps, he went on to serve in the Vietnam war.

After his service ended following a motorcycle wreck he returned home to Hobbs, NM.

He worked a variety of different jobs after coming home before he started driving for Pepsi Co. While working for Pepsi he met the love of his life Karen Tinkle. They went on to have two children, Derek and Russell Dobbs.

Bill loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them. He was an avid fisherman and a great storyteller. Bill never knew a stranger and made friends everywhere he went.

Perhaps the biggest joy in his life was being Pops to his two grandchildren, Ryan and Alex. He loved those boys with all of his heart.

Bill was preceded in death by his father William Richard Dobbs, his sister's Sandra Dye and Debbie Dobbs-Ledbetter and brother William Dobbs. He is survived by his mother Vera Doris Hanson, wife Karen Dobbs, his two sons Derek and Russell Dobbs, daughter in law Lauren Dobbs, grandsons Ryan and Alex Dobbs and numerous extended family members.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday 4/2/22 at 2 p.m. Mulkey-Bowles-Montgomery Funeral Home, 705 N. Locust St., Denton, TX

We ask that in lieu of flowers memorial donations be made to the American Heart Association in his name.

He is greatly loved and will always be missed.
