William E. "Bill" Smith, 84, passed away peacefully at his home in Sanger on December 24, 2013. Bill was born in July 23, 1929 in Virgil, Kansas the son of Earl J. and Amanda L. Hartman Smith. Bill attended high school in Citrus Heights, California and then served as a Corporal in the United States Army Air Force during WWII. He married Gladys Tolbert Smith on May 12, 1978 in Lake Dallas, TX. He is survived by his wife Gladys of Sanger; daughters; Rozanna Smith of Sacramento, CA; Sharon Vilotte of Sacramento, CA; Charlotte Atchley of Gordonville, TX; Sharon Finnel of Denton, TX; Cheryl Wise of Ponder, TX; Sheilla Foster of Denton, TX; one son, David Smith of Pioneer Valley, TX; sister Arlene Oldham of Citrus Heights, CA.; 11 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter Sherry Polen. A graveside funeral service will be held on Saturday December 28, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. in the Sanger Cemetery in Sanger, TX.
