William "Bill" Albert Silver, 98, of Aubrey, died Tuesday, February 16, 2016 at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital in Denton.
Bill was born on November 24, 1917 in Tulsa, OK to Charles A. and Kate Pearl (Jones) Silver. He served in the United States Army during WWII and Korea. He was a draftsman and a very successful Real Estate Broker owning his own business: the Bill Silver Company. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge and the Order of the Amaranth along with being a respected volunteer with Denton County Friends of the Family. Bill was an avid fisherman and gardener. At age 68, he earned his private pilot license and it was not until age 92 that he decided to retire from riding his Harley. He was married to Frances Elizabeth Douglas in 1955 in Tulsa, OK; she died on January 6, 2015.
He is survived by his children, Martha Harris of Aubrey, Mike Silver and his wife Debbie of Watauga, Pat Silver and his wife Delia of Blanchard, OK, Kay Silver, Donna Snider, and William Allen Silver of Tulsa, OK; sisters, Patricia Rogers of Coweta, OK, Sue White of Houston, Myrtle Buckridge of Tulsa, OK; brother, Robert Silver of Tulsa, OK; grandchildren, Tyler, Brent, Robyn, Craig, Abigail, Samuel, Olivia, Levi.
There is no formal visitation; however, friends and family are welcome to come and go for viewing during the hours of 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM on Monday at the funeral home. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, February 23, 2016 in the chapel of Mulkey-Mason Funeral Home, 705 N. Locust, Denton. Rev. Mike Spencer will officiate the service. Interment will follow at Green Valley Cemetery, Aubrey.
