Willard Lee Feucht went to be with his Heavenly Father on Saturday, August 7, 2010 at Good Samaritan Denton Village.
The funeral service will be held Tuesday, August 10, 2010 at 10:00 AM at First Baptist Church, 1100 Malone St. Denton with Rev. Cliff Feeler officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park. Arrangements are under the direction of Mulkey-Mason Funeral Home, 705 N. Locust Denton. . Visitation will be held Monday night from 6:00 – 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
Willard was born October 6, 1921 at home on a farm near Sterling, Colorado to John and Margaretha Feucht. He graduated from high school in 1939 and was a full-time farmer with his father until he began training in the Civilian Pilot Training program in 1941. He was inducted into the Army Air Corps Enlisted Reserve in 1942 and flew Army C-47's carrying cargo and personnel all over the U.S. during the war. He thoroughly enjoyed his 38 year career as a pilot for Delta Air Lines. Willard married Audrey Schafer in Denver, Colorado in May 1947. Willard's hobbies included ranching, wood-working, photography, and horseback riding. Following Audrey's death, Willard married Dorothy Shearer in August 1996. They enjoyed co-directing the home-bound ministry at church together and traveling. Willard was also active in his church, First Baptist Church, Denton, as a deacon and greeter. One of Willard's special interests was supporting the building of an auditorium and dining room at Camp Copass.
Willard is survived by his wife Dorothy of Denton, and four children, Randy Feucht, and wife Neita of Denton; Cathy Ownby and husband Craig of Arlington; Barbara Berryman and husband Leslie of Marlow, Oklahoma; John Feucht and wife Mary Anne of Ponder; and a daughter-in-law, Nancy Feucht of Chesapeake, Virginia and 17 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Audrey, his parents, his son, Dr. Christopher Lee, his infant twin brother, Wilbur, and his infant grandson, Christopher.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be sent to the International Mission Board or Camp Copass.
