IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Wilbert Robert
"Nickie" Borth
February 23, 1926 – February 23, 2017
Wilbert Robert "Nickie" Borth was born in Krum, Texas on February 23, 1926 and died surrounded by family on February 23, 2017, his 91st birthday. He was the fourth son out of 6 boys born to Herman Henry Borth and Annie Katherine Ford Borth. Most people never knew his real name. He wasn't too fond of the name and he used his nickname "Nickie" his entire life. Nickie married Peggy Ruth Watson on December 11, 1953 and she preceded him in death in 1988.
He is survived by his children, Donna Borth Stewart and husband Don of Krum, Rick Borth of Denton, James Borth of Krum and Linda Case of Irving. Nickie has 8 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren and a large extended family. He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter Nicki Jean Jacobs, and 5 brothers, Roland, Charlie, Aaron, Myron and Jerome Borth. Nickie served in the US Army during World War II from 1944 to 1946 as a Staff Sergeant and was stationed in the Philippines and Japan.
He worked for Ford Motor Company in Dallas for 20 years until the assembly plant closed in 1970. He only believed in and drove Ford vehicles from that point forward. He was self titled "the best damn hood fitter there ever was" and it took two people to replace him. He then was an independent salesman for Snap-on-Tools from 1971 to 1992. You never saw Nickie without wearing one of his Snap-on-Tool hats.
Nickie's entire life was also spent farming the family land. He loved every minute of his farming life and he always took great care of his cows and land. He worked on the farm until his death.
