Whitney Lynn Carnes, 40, of Denton, Texas, passed away at Methodist Dallas Medical Center on Wednesday, September 20, 2023.

Whitney was born on September 11, 1983, to Ted Nile and Jan Harris Carnes in Dallas, Texas. Whitney is survived by her mother, Jan Carnes; her sister, Kevin Carnes; and her two brothers, Christopher Carnes and Brian Carnes. She also has a sister-in-law, Kayleigh; a niece, Rosalind; and a nephew, Rhyder.

Whitney graduated from Denton High School and attended North Central Texas College, Texas Woman's University, University of North Texas, and Mid-Western State University. Whitney majored in chemistry and enjoyed studying mathematics. Whitney was a math tutor and a Denton Independent School District substitute teacher.

Whitney was a gifted artist who specialized in drawing and embroidery and enjoyed many hobbies, such as music, movies, pop culture, and collecting trinkets. Whitney enjoyed being with her family and the many friends she made everywhere she lived.

Whitney was a caring and creative person and will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
