The trumpets blew and special angels were dispatched to welcome to his heavenly mansion, Walter Randall Minchew, age 26 of Lewisville Saturday evening, March 15, 2008. Randy was born December 13, 1981 in Arlington, Texas to Gary Minchew and Patricia Ann Culver. He married, Gloria Lachel Staggs October 7, 2003 and worked as a truck driver. He was very active and spent much of his spare time volunteering with the St. Paul Transplant Charity. Randy and his family are eternally thankful for the generosity and compassionate, life giving organ donations that allowed him to live 26 years. His doctors said he would not survive past 6 months! Randy was a tireless voice for the life giving importance of being an organ donor. Randy is survived by his wife, Lachel of Lewisville; parents, Patricia Ann Culver and her husband, Richard of Williamsburg, Colorado, Gary Minchew and his wife, Cathy of Mansfield, TX, mother and father in-law, Larry and Laura Nixon of Lewisville; grandmother, Louise Garrett of Southlake; great grandmother, Mary Ruffatti of Florence, Colorado; grandparents, Dr. Robert Miller and his wife, Michele and Kenneth and Janie West of Alvord, Texas; sister, Chelsey Minchew of Mansfield and brother, Dustin Minchew of Mansfield and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends. Visitation will be Monday evening, March 17, 2008 from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00p.m. at the funeral home. Funeral service will be at 10:00a.m., Tuesday, March 18, 2008 at the First United Methodist Church of Lewisville, 907 West Main Street, (corner of Main and Summit), Lewisville, TX 75067. Interment will follow in the Grapevine Cemetery.
