Obituary

Loving father, devoted husband, and beautiful human being Walter William Blind, 79, of Denton, died Wednesday, January 27, 2016 at Denton Regional Medical Center.
Walter William Blind was born on August 23, 1936 in Oneida, NY to Henry Herman and Agnes Eugenia (Mallorey) Blind. He graduated from the Chicago Institute of Art with a Master of Science degree in Lighting and Scenery Design. He served 23 years in the United States Navy as a proud patriot and supporter of his country, and retired as a Lieutenant Commander. Following his military career, he was employed by and retired from Oryx Energy as a Systems Analyst.
Walter was a devoted and faithful steward of Trinity Presbyterian Church of Denton. He was an elder in the church; he served on the Session; he was Treasurer for Trinity for almost a decade; and he was an invaluable member of the committee for new construction on the church, assisting with all aspects from initial fund raising to final completion. Walter served on four different bond committees for Denton ISD to help fund and construct new schools. He also selflessly volunteered for Giving Hope, Inc., an organization dedicated "to give a hand up to those experiencing or at-risk of homelessness through advocacy, community collaboration, and rental assistance in Denton County." His devotion to the Trinity Presbyterian and the city of Denton communities will be sorely missed, and exemplify God's power and love.
Walter married Roberta Ann Griswell in 1964 and enjoyed 29 years of wedded bliss until her untimely passing in 1993. God blessed Walter a second time when he met Paula Joslin in 1994. They were married on March 9, 1996 in Denton and have lived the past 19 years as inseparable partners in matrimony.
Walter William Blind is survived by his wife, Paula Joslin Blind of Denton; daughter, Michele Adams and her husband Jimmy of Sanger; sons, Scott Blind and his wife Jenifer of Euless, and Mark Joslin of Sugar Land; sister, Ruth Blind Straseske of Champagne, IL; brother, Roger Blind of Liverpool, NY; grandchildren, Haylee Blind, Jordan Blind, Tanner Adams, Hayes Adams, Haley Adams, Alissa Joslin, Dakoda Joslin.
