IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Wallace Roy
Trietsch
October 21, 1935 – February 4, 2024
Wallace "Buddy" Roy Trietsch (1935 -2024)
Wallace Roy Trietsch, 88, of Sanger, Texas died in his home on February 4, 2024 surrounded by family.
He was born in Denton County on October 21, 1935 to George William and Lydia Caroline Trietsch. Wallace was the youngest of four children. He attended Denton High before joining the National Guard where he was stationed for one year at Fort Polk (now Fort Johnson), Louisiana during the Cuba crisis. Wallace spent his working days farming and banking. He once even raised enough turkeys to purchase a new truck.
SPOUSE – Wallace met the love of his life, Sondra in 1958 while on a blind date. After a wonderful time swimming at the lake, to surprise of his friends Wallace asked Sondra on a second date. After dating for three years, Wallace and Sondra were married in a small ceremony in 1961 at the First Methodist Church in Henrietta, Texas.
CHILDREN – Wallace and Sondra could not wait to start a family of their own, and their children meant the world to them. Survived by sons Edward Lee Trietsch and Ralph Edwin Trietsch.
GRANDCHILDREN – Though he loved golfing, fishing, and woodworking, Wallace's favorite role was that of a grandparent, and great-grandparent. He treasured his time with the grandkids and great-grand-daughter. He loved being their Grandpa/Pawpaw, never failing to take them fishing or share his love for woodworking.
JOB – Wallace was passionate about his various roles at then named First State Bank of Denton bought out by Wells Fargo. He worked in banking for thirty-seven years, retiring as the assistant vice-president.
HOBBIES – Everyone who knew Wallace knew how much he loved fishing. While on vacation in Puerto Rico, Sondra and Wallace went out deep sea fishing. Sondra recalls the trip out was rough weather, but ended in a wonderful day of fishing. Wallace hooked a Blue Marlin, fighting to reel in the catch for over forty-five minutes leaving Wallace exhausted. In memory of the experience a replica was purchased and hung prominently in the living room.
Wallace was preceded in death by his parents George William and Lydia Caroline Trietsch and two siblings Perry and William R. Trietsch. He is survived by his spouse Sondra Trietsch, sister Ruby Birdwell, sons Edward Lee Trietsch (Stephanie Spearman) and Ralph Edwin Trietsch, grandchildren William Edward Trietsch (Nimmy Mammoottil), Katherine Nicole Stephens (Brett), Margaret Elizabeth Trietsch and Casey Scott Trietsch and great-granddaughter, Ciana Michelle Trietsch.
