Virginia “Ginny” Manes, 91, went to be with her Lord and Savior on September 26, 2026.

Ginny was born January 31, 1935, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, to Robert and Emily Lowry. Throughout her life, she was devoted to her faith and to the family and friends God placed around her.

Ginny had a gift for making people feel loved. She loved to cook and host, and many cherished memories were made gathered around her table. She enjoyed playing games, especially Scrabble, and treasured time spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Some of her greatest joy came simply from being together with the people she loved.

Those who knew Ginny will remember her for her quiet wisdom. She did not need to be the loudest voice in the room to make an impact. She had a gentle way of listening, encouraging, and sharing wisdom when it was needed. Over the years, she poured into and mentored other women, quietly influencing the lives of many through her faith, kindness, and example.

Ginny shared 66 years of marriage with her husband, Jack Manes, who survives her. She is also survived by her daughter, Melanie Brown and husband Johnny of Valley View, Texas; her son, Scott Manes and wife Eileen of Denton, Texas; five grandchildren, Mark Brown, Abigail Moore and husband Colton, Megan Schmidt and husband Luke, Jared Brown and wife Cheyenne, Joel Manes and wife Christine; and seven great-grandchildren, Wyatt, Lilah, Weston, Callan, Dally, Titus, and Ellie.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Emily Lowry, and her two brothers, John and Robert Lowry.

A Celebration of Life will be held on October 9, 2026 at 2:00 pm at Denton Bible Church, 2300 E. University Dr. Denton, TX a reception will follow after the service.

Ginny leaves behind a beautiful legacy of faith, family, hospitality, and love. Her influence will continue through the generations of family she cherished and through the many lives she touched. Though she will be deeply missed, her family finds comfort in knowing that she is now at home with the Lord she faithfully loved and served.
