Viola Evelyn Newton-Smith passed away at Medical Center of Lewisville on January 21, 2009. She was born May 25, 1922 in Denton County. She was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, James Smith, Jr., her brother, Virgil Newton, and her parents Dera and Sam Newton. She is survived by her daughter Shirley Sigler and husband, Larry; three grandchildren, Lorie Rudolph and husband, Michael of Lewisville, Randy Sigler and wife, Carrie of Flower Mound and Chris Sigler of Fort Worth. She is survived by four great-grandchildren, Scott and Erika Rudolph, and Ashley and Ryan Sigler. She is also survived by her cousin, Truman "Jelly" Decker and numerous friends and family. Lovingly known to her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews as "Bobo", Viola was a much loved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. Some of her favorite things were to cook, shop and vacation with her family. She worked as a school cafeteria manager for 20 years in the L.I.S.D., and was a long-time member of the First Baptist Church of Lewisville. Her Life was one that touched so many people and will be sadly missed by all of her family and friends. Funeral service will be held 10:00 a.m. Saturday, January 24, 2009, at Mulkey-Mason Funeral Home in Lewisville. Interment will follow at Old Hall Cemetery in Lewisville.
