Vikki June Cagle Nelson, 72, of Corinth, Texas, entered this world on January 6, 1954, at Carswell Airforce Base in Fort Worth, Texas, born to Elton and Jackie Cagle. She passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by family on Monday, August 17th, 2026.
Vikki was known as a fierce and loyal friend, full of life and always smiling. She was a devoted mother, nana, daughter, sister and aunt. Family meant everything to her along with her relationship with Jesus Christ and unwavering faith in His plan and timing.
Vikki dedicated much of her life to her career as an Administrative Assistant at the University of Texas Southwest Medical Center. Over 28 years, she proudly supported three female Department Chairs in the Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation academic office. In 2020, upon her retirement, Vikki embraced her greatest joy—the role of a devoted Nana. She cherished time with her grandchildren often having them over, attending their school events, band concerts, and football games. Vikki will forever be remembered for her radiant smile, infectious laughter, and the boundless love and care she generously offered to all who knew her.
Vikki leaves behind a loving family, including her children Jason Nelson, Jennifer Kamego (Nelson) and her husband Steve; her cherished grandchildren TJ Wilshire, Corbin Nelson, Declyn Nelson, Elena Kamego, and Addison Kamego; her mother, Jackie Cagle; her brothers Rick Cagle and wife Angela, and Chris Cagle and wife Kallea; and a large extended family. Vikki was preceded in death by her father, Elton Cagle.
A Celebration of Vikki’s life will take place at The Village Church chapel, 2101 Justin Rd, Flower Mound, TX 75028 on Friday, August 21, 2026. Visitation will begin at 10 am, with the service following at 11 am, and a small reception afterwards. We invite you to wear her favorite color, purple, to honor her.
