Victoria was born on February 2, 1957, in Waterloo, Iowa, to Robert and Valeria Stout Sage. Victoria went to be with her Lord and Savior on March 9, 2010.
Graduating from Central High School in Elkader, Iowa, she enrolled at New Tribes Bible Institute. Upon graduating from New Tribes, she entered nurses training.
Victoria spent twenty years in the medical field, becoming the director of a nursing
home, and went on to complete her doctorate as a Doctor of Naturopathy.
Victoria was married to Mark Korth in 1978 and moved to Wausau, Wisconsin, where she gave birth to four children, who were the treasures of her heart. Victoria was a skilled vocalist and pianist, who used her gifts at Wausau Bible Church for many years and faithfully ministered to the needs of family, friends and all whom the Lord brought into her life. Victoria also served with Child Evangelism Fellowship, judged music for IFCA youth conventions, and was the instrument God used to start a private Christian school in her community.
In 1994, heart specialists at the Milwaukee Heart Institute told her she was dying and they didn't know why. After doctors were medically unable to solve her health problems, they sent her home to do whatever she could do naturally to try to save her life. The next sixteen years of her life were marked by periods of improvement followed by recurring health problems. During this time, God opened up a unique ministry to Victoria, sharing the grace and love of God with those who came into her life.
Shortly after moving to Texas in 2000, she established Nature's Healing Hand to help others, like herself, who had difficulty responding to normal medical treatments. In addition, God used her years of musical experience to serve as the director of a music conservatory.
Victoria and Douglas Kim, a worship leader and youth pastor, were married in 2004. Douglas has been beside her as strength and encouragement in the battle.
In addition to her health struggles, in November 2009, their car was hit broadside by another vehicle, resulting in critical injury to Victoria. Yet, in spite of it all, her faith did not wane and the doctors and medical staff were uplifted by her positive spirit. As God's people began to intercede in prayer, each day unfolded new improvements, miracles from the hand of God.
She made unexpected progress in the following weeks, allowing her to be released from physical therapy in January 2010. Her health began to deteriorate once again in the middle of February, ultimately resulting in the end of her valiant journey among us.
Victoria is survived by her husband, Douglas Kim; her sons Joshua in Blue Jay, California and Caleb in Charleston, West Virginia; her daughters, Elisabeth Buchwalter in Okinawa, Japan and Rachel Foster in Grand Junction, Colorado; one grandson, Jonathan Buchwalter; her father, Robert Sage, Oelwein, IA; her mother Valeria Sage, Flower Mound, TX; one sister, Holly Ly, Lewisville, TX; and one brother, Daniel Sage, Arlington, IA.
Memorial services will be held on Saturday, March 13, 2010, at 6:00P.M.
