Vera Lee Cudd, 87, of Denton, died Tuesday, August 14, 2007, in Denton, Texas.

Vera was born July 9, 1920 in Cartwright, Texas to Frank and Cora Ann Kennimer. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Wordy (Bill) Cudd, Jr., after 45 years of marriage, also by her brothers Dalton Ray and Ramon Kennimer. Vera graduated from Mineola High School and attended Lon Morris Junior College in Jacksonville. She retired from Southwestern Bell Telephone Company in Longview, TX. before moving to Denton in 1998 to be close to her children and grandchildren. Vera moved into Denton Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in 2004 where she found many friends and encouraged them to have fun and enjoy life.

Vera attended First Baptist Church in Denton where the service will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Friday, August 17, 2007, with burial at Mineola City Cemetery in Mineola, TX, at 3:00 P.M. following the service. A family visitation will be held Thursday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at Mulkey-Mason Funeral Home, 705 N. Locust St., Denton.

Vera is survived by her children Emily Ann and Robert Jeff Hooper of Ponder, William Wordy III and Dorothy Jean Cudd of Denton, and Thomas Frank and Mariella Cudd of Denton, 10 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
