Velma Lucille Harris Smith passed away April 22, 2026 at the Pilot Point Care Center, in Pilot Point, Texas. Velma Lucille Harris was born September 11, 1931 in Winnsboro, Texas to Auburne Tulley and Jewel Freda Harris.

She outlived her husband, Homer Audrey Smith that passed on February 4, 1996 and all of her siblings, Laconia Frances Harris Tillery, (Connie), James Oliver Harris (Jim) and Peggy Joyce Harris Smith. She grieved the loss of her granddaughter, Codi Christen Debra Smith on August 4, 1996 and Codi’s father Rodger Garland Smith that passed on October 23, 2022.

Velma is survived by her children Toni Linn Cox, Stephen Randle Smith, Gary Brian Smith, and Homer Alan Smith, her grandchildren; Lisa Smith, Britney Redfearn, Evan Cox, Danielle Smith, Cheyenne Smith, and Kenna Smith, great-grandchildren; Walker Smith, Wyatt Redfearn, and Gabriel Guerra, She will be missed.
