Troy Lee Young, 78, of Denton, died Sunday, February 15, 2015 at his home in Denton.
Mr. Young was born on December 15, 1936 in Lawton, OK to Walter and Clementine (Jackson) Young. He married Annette Routon on August 10, 1957 in Fort Worth, TX. Troy retired from the United States Air Force and went to work for Goodyear as a store manager and eventually retired as a territory manager.
He is survived by his wife, Annette Young of Denton; daughters, Donna Hood and her husband Frank of Arlington, Kelly Reinoehl and her husband Russell of Arlington; son, Jeff Young and his wife Barbara of Denton; grandchildren, Ryan Young, Scotty Young, Chase Reinoehl, Kelsey Reinoehl.
Troy was a mentor to many young men and took pride in building the character of many people he took in as his own. He also excelled as an athlete his entire life, and was an avid sports fan throughout his days. Though, Troy had one true passion in his life and that was his family. He found happiness in bringing out the best in others, and would do anything within his power to make them smile.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, February 20, 2015 in the chapel of Mulkey-Mason Funeral Home, 705 N. Locust, Denton. Visitation will be held for an hour before the service. Interment will be at the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery at a later date.
