E. Travis Avery, 78, of Denton, died Wednesday March 15, 2017 at his home in Denton.
Mr. Avery was born on January 18, 1939 in Oakland Park, Florida. He was married to Connie Irene Davenport on February 4, 1960 in Oakland Park, FL. He was in the class of 1957 at Suwannee High School.  He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Denton. He worked for Sears for over forty years.
He is survived by his wife, Connie Avery of Denton; daughter, Melanie Lynn Whaite and her husband Ralph of Wichita Falls; son, Michael Travis Avery and his wife Donna of Denton; sisters, Patricia Ann Lopez of FL, Lillian Indermuhle of FL, Glenda Stansel of FL, Debbie Bembry of FL; grandchildren, Colton Avery, Sasha Avery, Hunter Avery, Cody Avery, Avery Whaite, Miranda Whaite & his beloved dog Tinker Bell.  He was preceded in death by his father Lawrence, mother Helen and brother, Dwain Avery.
A visitation will be held from 11:30 AM until funeral time at 1:00 PM Friday, March 17, 2017 at Lifegate Church, 3350 Deerwood Parkway, Denton. Rev. Randy Ganzer will officiate the service. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park, Denton.
