Tomas G. Sandoval, age 88, of Aubrey, a beloved son, brother, husband, father and grandfather, passed away peacefully March 8, 2008, with his beloved family at his side.
He was born April 29, 1919 in Rio Hondo, Texas to Vincente Sandoval and Leonor G. Sandoval. Tomas volunteered into the Army and proudly served during World War II. He was a heavy machine gunner and fought in Normandy, Northern France, Ardennes, Rhineland and Central Europe. He received several citations during his service including the EAME Campaign Medal with 5 bronze stars. Tomas married Teresa Diaz on March 24, 1946 in Rio Hondo, Texas.
His energy and love went to God, his country, family, friends, gardening and cowboy movies.
He is survived by his wife, 6 children and their spouses, 7 grandchildren and numerous other family members and friends.
A graveside service with military honors will be held 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 11, 2008, at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery in Dallas. Mulkey-Mason Funeral Home of Lewisville is in charge of arrangements. For online condolences please go to www.mulkeymason.com
