Obituary

Tom Harris Page of Coppell passed away peacefully at the age of 86 Tuesday, March 16, 2010. Tom was born in Abbott, Arkansas, November 23, 1923 to Floyd Page and Dixie Fuller. He spent his childhood in Raymondville, TX until he joined the Civilian Conservation Corps in 1940 and was stationed in Santa Fe, NM to help develop the Sante Fe River Parks system. Tom was a veteran serving in the Army Air Force during World War II. He served in various battles and campaigns in Normandy, The Rhineland, The Ardennes and other parts of Europe. Tom retired in 1990 as Senior Seed Agronomist-Latin America for the W. Atlee Burpee Seed Company. During his employment, he developed agricultural projects in Mexico and established several other projects in Central and South America. After his retirement, he continued his favorite activities of spreading joy to family and friends, ballroom dancing with the wonderful ladies in the DFW Metroplex and teaching Spanish language instruction to many family friends. At the time of his passing, he enjoyed walking two miles a day and ballroom dancing many times a week. His advise, "You got to keep moving!" will be remembered by his friends and family. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Mary Margarett, daughter, Linda Moseley, brother and F.E. Page, Jr.. Tom is survived by his daughter, Elizabeth Page Meador and her husband, Scott of Coppell; brother, F.G. Page and his wife, Rebecca of Las Vegas; sister-in-law, Doris Page of Dallas and grandchildren, Sarah Page Meador, Jonathan Scott Meador and numerous nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Tom was laid to rest at the Dallas/Fort Worth National Cemetery on Monday, March 22, 2010.
