Tim Crews
Vernon Tim Crews, 60, of Denton, TX passed away in the early morning at his home on Wednesday, April 20, 2016.
Tim was born on December 19, 1955, in Hugo, OK to A.V. and Lynette Crews. He married Elizabeth Crews on June 9, 1984, in Denton, TX. He graduated from Southeastern Oklahoma State University in Durant, OK and shortly began reporting sports for the Durant Daily Democrat. After moving to Denton, he found work at Victor Equipment - where he was employed for 20 years. While in Denton, Tim enjoyed being active in the Denton Hi-Noon Lions Club, Denton Community Chorus, Denton Area Model Railroad Club, and serving as a deacon at Cooper Creek Baptist Church.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 - 8:00 P.M., Monday, April 25 at Mulkey-Mason Funeral Home. Services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Tuesday, April 26 at The Bridge Church (which formerly housed Cooper Creek Baptist Church) in Denton, TX officiated by Bro. Rick Montgomery and Bro. Brian Sadler. Graveside service will be held around 3:00 P.M., Tuesday, April 26 at Mount Olivet Cemetery in Hugo, OK, officiated by Bro. Dick McClure and Bro, Doug McClure.
Tim is survived by his wife of 31 years, Elizabeth (Smith) Crews, of Denton; son, John Crews of Fort Worth; daughter Mollie Crews of Denton; and sister, Sharon (Crews) McCoy and husband Keith of Springfield, MO. He is preceded in death by his parents A.V. and Lynette (Sadler) Crews and his infant daughter Angela Crews.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to either the SE BCM Memorial Building Fund at P.O. Box 12, Durant, OK 74702 or the 2E-2 Lions Organ and Eye Bank at P.O.
