Thurman P. Sauls, 80, of Denton, passed away Wednesday, March 7, 2018 at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital in Denton. Mr. Sauls was born on July 31, 1937 in Waco, TX to Thurman Hicks and Clara Mae (Posey) Sauls. He was married to Peggy (Laird) Sauls for 30 years. He served in the United States Navy and was very proud to serve his country. He retired after working many years, as a welder, for Trinity Industries.
Thurman never met a stranger as he loved to tell stories and make people laugh. Everyone that met him instantly loved his sense of humor. He had a special gift with animals, he loved the outdoors and working on the farm. He was a devoted father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. He touched the lives of many with his kind heart, wisdom and gentle soul. He was loved very much and will be truly missed by many.
He is survived by his daughter, Teresa Jester of Whitesboro; son, Dude Sauls and his wife Lesia of Highland Village; brother, Donald H. Sauls and his wife Christina of Denton; grandchildren, Joshua Sauls, Troy Sauls, Kyle Sauls; great-grandchildren, Alex Milcoff, Adam Sauls, Loralei Sauls, Felicity Sauls. He was preceded in death by his son, Donald D. Sauls, grandson, Cody Looper and great-grandson, Eli Sauls.
A visitation will be held from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM Sunday, March 11, 2018 at the funeral home. The funeral service will be at 2:00 PM Monday, March 12, 2018 in the chapel of Mulkey-Bowles-Montgomery Funeral Home, 705 N. Locust, Denton. Rev. Buddy Owens will officiate the service. Interment will follow at Cooper Creek Cemetery, Denton.
