Obituary
Thurman J. Garrison, age 90, of Lake Dallas, passed away Thursday, October 12, 2006 at Veterans Hospital in Dallas.
He was born December 19, 1915 in Denton, Texas to R.W. and Virgie Viola Patterson Garrison. He married Maurine Morris July 3, 1944 in Lewisville. Thurman served in the United States Army during WWII in Italy. He also worked with the OSS and at the Pentagon and Capital during WWII. He served as a Lake Dallas City Councilman and was a life member of the VFW Post in Lake Dallas. He attended Lake Shore Baptist Church in Lake Dallas.
He is survived by his wife, Maurine; granddaughter Trisha Anderson and her husband, Quentin; two great-grandchildren, Grace and Noah Anderson; brother, Jimmy Garrison and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a son Thurman J. Garrison, Jr. in 2002.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 P.M., Sunday, October 15, 2006 at Mulkey Mason Funeral Home in Lewisville. A graveside service will be held, 3:00 P.M., Monday, October 16, 2006 at Swisher Cemetery in Lake Dallas. Reverend Homer Walkup will officiate the service. The family requests memorials made to the Lake Shore Baptist Church, 276 E. Hundley Dr., Lake Dallas, Texas 75065 or to an organization of donors choice.
