IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Thomas Leeo
Schrimsher
September 13, 1947 – August 23, 2020
As the hot summer breezes began to come to a close and the beginnings of fall were felt Thomas Leeo Schrimsher was born to Charles Leeo Schrimsher and Nancy Maple Schrimsher September 13, 1947 in Loudon, Tennessee. Thomas attended Indian Ridge school in Grainger County, Tennessee, Fort Creek school, and graduated from Vonore High School in 1964. Thomas then joined the US Air Force and became an instructor at Shepherd Air Force base and served in Vietnam. Tom and Rheta were married August 29, 1969 in Denton, Texas. He passed away August 23, 2020.
Thomas had a wide variety of interests including ham radio, television repair and radio repair at Daves' Radio shop and John Adams Office Machine Repair shop. He was also a firearm instructor for the state of Texas. Thomas has taught many students to receive their gun license. He has worked in on electronics in the Physics Department of the University of North Texas. He was able to repair equipment when it malfunctioned and design printed circuit boards. Tom loved music and was truly gifted to play any instrument he picked up. He built. His own theremin and became a very skilled player of the hand saw and guitar. Thomas enjoyed, computers, lawn work, Thomas Kincaid puzzles, dominoes, Halloween, and Christmas. He designed the plans for his special room, an addition to his and Rheta's longtime home to enjoy his many passions. Thomas was a faithful member of the church of Christ. He taught Bible classes, helped record sermons, lead singing, and helped prepare and serve the Lord's Supper.
Thomas is preceded in death by his parents Charles and Nancy of Philadelphia, Tennessee and one brother, Clifford Allan Schrimsher of Philadelphia, Tennessee. He is survived by his wife Rheta of Denton, Texas; sisters Glenda Dailey and Diann Kirkland of Philadelphia, Tennessee; brothers Neal Schrimsher of Madisonville, Tennessee, Carl Schrimsher of Philadelphia, Tennessee, and Roy Schrimsher of Sweetwater, Tennessee; nieces Whitney, Lisa, Kara, Denny, Melissa, and Crystal; nephews Robert and Michael.
