Thomas N. Lowery, Sr., 89, of Denton, TX passed away on March 25, 2016 at his home. He was born November 9, 1926 in Memphis, TN to Earlie Newton and Annie Iva (Croft) Lowery. Tom enlisted in the US Navy in 1944 and served until 1947. Upon his return he attended Memphis State College where he met Earleen Newton. They married on June 16, 1950 in Memphis, TN and were happily married for 65 years. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Memphis, TN. He was a member of Southmont Baptist Church. Tom was employed by Beaman Corp. in the sales and construction of prefabricated buildings.
Tom was preceded in death by his son, Timothy M. Lowery, Sr. He is survived by his wife, Mattie Earleen Lowery of Denton, TX; daughter, Denise Scheibmeir of Garnett, KS; son, Thomas N. Lowery, Jr. of Carrollton, TX; sister, Charlotte Leppert of Southaven, MS; grandchildren, Timothy M. Lowery, Jr. of Denton, Charlotte Lutz and Sandra Rugg of Garnett, KS and six great-grandchildren and nine nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 30, 2016 at Mulkey-Mason Funeral Home from 6 PM until 8 PM. Funeral services will be Thursday, March 31, 2016 in the funeral home Chapel with Dr. Larry Reynolds officiating. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Park.
