Obituary

Thomas Jefferson Hardy, Jr., 90, of Krum, passed away on Wednesday, February 26, 2014 at Cottonwood Nursing Center. He was born on February 8, 1924 in Dallas, TX to Thomas Jefferson, Sr. and Elsie Mae (Jones) Hardy.
Tommy grew up on the farm north of Krum and was a graduate of Krum High School and attended NTSC. He was owner of the Hardy Heating and Air Conditioning Co. of Dallas. Tommy's father was a WWI veteran and Tommy followed in his footsteps, serving in WWII and the Korean War. He returned to the farm to help his step father John Davis, he moved to Dallas and worked for an air conditioning company, later starting his own business, and installing his last big job at the age of 79. He loved building birdhouses and never made two the same. He enjoyed working with wood and some of his work can be found in the Open Range Cowboy Church in Krum. He took great pleasure in making furniture for the children's room. Tommy was married to Omalie Medlin Hood on May 14, 2006 in Texas City. He was very active in Circle 10 Scouting in Dallas for several years.
Mr. Hardy is survived by his wife, Omalie Hardy of Krum; children, Susan Smith and Larry Little of Racine, WI, Dr. Donald Hardy and wife Dr. Heather Hardy of Reno, NV Joy Batchelor and husband Rick of Ovilla, TX, John Hardy of Cedar Creek, TX; step children, Patricia Trietsch and husband Ronnie Sanger, TX Michael Hood and wife Theresa of Krum, TX; eleven grandchildren; six great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; three step grandchildren; three step great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Oneita Sharber and brother, Arthur Joe Davis.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, March 1, 2014 at the Open Range Cowboy Church, 7290 Hawkeye Rd., Krum, TX from 6 P.M. until 8 P.M. A funeral service will also be held at the church on Sunday, March 2, 2014 at 2 P.M. with Rev. Earl Bengston and Bill Mayes officiating.
