Thelma Ruth Stevens, 82, of Denton, died Sunday, June 8, 2008 at The Vintage.  She was born January 6, 1926 in Powderly, TX to Oscar L. and Sibyl M. (Carver) Rorie.  She was married to Henry Grady Stevens on May 9, 1948 in Jacksonville, TX  he died October 31, 2001  She was a retired Registered Nurse retiring in 1968 from Flow Memorial Hospital as Director of Nurses, and after this volunteered at the Denton County Historical Museum. A memorial service will be held at 11 A.M. on Thursday, June 12, 2008 at The Church of Saint David of Wales, 623 Ector, Denton,  with The Reverend Canon H. W. Herrmann, Officiating.  In lieu of flowers, Memorials to Saint Davids of Wales Memorial Fund, 623 Ector, Denton, TX 76201 Mrs. Stevens is survived by a daughter,  Paula Anne Gawne, and husband Bill of Pasadena, MD  and a son Henry Grady "Steve" Stevens,II and wife Diane, of Denton, and a brother, Charles Rorie and wife Judy of El Paso, and Grandchildren, Robby Stevens, Marianne Gawne Brown, and Amanda Gawne Armbruster, and Great Grandchildren, Maya Stevens, Ella Stevens, and Rhiannon Armbruster.
