Thelda Carpenter Sitz, 86, of Slidell, TX, died Wednesday, November 29, 2017 at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital in Denton.
Mrs. Sitz was born on December 5, 1930 in Tioga to Rev. Solomon and Myrtle (Crider) Carpenter. She was married to James L. Sitz of Slidell, TX on March 9, 1947 in Denton. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Slidell.
She worked as a nurse for Dr. D.K. Boyd, and also as a nurse and x-ray technician for Medical Surgical Clinic for many years.
Mrs. Sitz is survived by her husband, James L. Sitz of Slidell; daughter, Judy Stracener and her husband David of Slidell; son Michael Sitz of Slidell; grandchildren, Dianne Fowler and her husband Jordan, James Stracener, Leah Browning and her husband Jared; great-grandchildren, Ally Fowler, Brady Fowler, Emma Fowler, Kolby Stracener, Jacob Browning, Cooper Browning, Logan Browning, Hailey Browning.
A visitation will be held from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Friday, December 1, 2017 at Mulkey-Bowles-Montgomery Funeral Home, 705 N. Locust, Denton. A funeral service will be held at 3:00 PM Saturday, December 2, 2017 at the Slidell First Baptist Church, 119 CR 2822, Slidell, TX. Interment will follow at Slidell Cemetery.
