Terry M. Stark, age 70, died on Saturday, February 20, 2016 at Denton Regional Medical Center. He was born in Dallas on July 30, 1945 to Price and Lee (Walker) Stark of Frisco.
Terry was a dedicated father, husband, journalist and civil servant. He served the State Department as a diplomat to Guatemala and for the U.S. Department of Agriculture in both Denton and Dallas. He worked as a journalist for several Texas newspapers including the Fort Worth Star-Telegram. Terry was an active volunteer with the Denton Community Theatre and the Opening Doors International Service.
Terry received the Purple Heart in 1966 for his service in Viet Nam and went on to earn a Bachelor's Degree in Journalism from The University of Texas.
He was preceded in death by his father Price and mother Lee of Frisco, his sister Debbie Davis of Denton, and his beloved dog Rags (R.I.P. 2/16/16).
Terry is survived by his wife Aileene (Lockhart) Stark, son and daughter-in-law John and Jennifer of Austin, brother-in-law John Davis of Denton, sister-in-law Mary Lou (Lockhart) and Ron Workman of Fairview, and nieces and nephew Weston Davis, Leah Rogers, and Mary Bergstrom.
No services will be held. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that any memorial gifts be made to the Alzheimer's Association. (alz.org)
