Obituary

Sudie Lee Pierce Ferguson Our beloved mother, Grandmother of 9 and Great Grandmother of 11 went peacefully to be with our Lord in Dallas on January 7, 2008. Sudie Lee Pierce was born in Jackson Mississippi, July 18, 1916. She graduated from Central High School in Jackson and attended Capitol Street Methodist Church. Her parents were Hugh and Effie Pierce. She married Reverend William W. Ferguson on August 30, 1935 in Jackson. Together they served churches in Mississippi, Virginia and Texas. In 1949 they were called to establish The Calder Baptist Church in Beaumont Texas. The last 2 decades of their life was spent in Silsbee, Texas in the Real Estate Business. She is survived by her daughters Lynda and Robert White of Dallas Texas, and Suzanne and Henry Barfield of Silsbee, Texas. Her sisters in law Patricia Pierce of Jackson Mississippi and Gertheen Pierce of Woodville Texas; also nine grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. A graveside service to celebrate her life will be held 2p.m., Saturday, January 12, 2008 at Magnolia Cemetery in Beaumont, Texas. She will be missed by all who knew her for her kindness and generosity. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to: Galloway Avenue Baptist Church
