IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Steven Edward
Telaneus
June 16, 1959 – April 30, 2020
Steven Edward Telaneus, "Coach T", died on April 30, 2020 at the age of 60 while engaging in one of his passions; riding his bike.
Coach T was born on June 16, 1959 in Hollywood, CA to Colleen Enright Telaneus and Jack Edward Telaneus. He graduated from Occidental College in Los Angeles, CA in 1981. He married Ellen Carrico Telaneus on December 18, 1982 in Bellevue, WA. He has lived in Denton, TX since 1988, and has been the cross country and track coach at Marcus High School in Flower Mound, TX since 1986.
Steve will be dearly missed by his sweetheart Ellen Telaneus, his four children and their families, Tim Telaneus and wife Caroline, Sarah Atwater and husband Kyle, Ben Telaneus, and Daniel Telaneus and wife Nicole. His three grandchildren, Titus (4), Reese (2), and Axl (6mos) will always be told of the legacy that their "Pops" left behind. His sister, Heidi Collins and family, his brother, Kirk Telaneus, his mother, Connie Telaneus, his mother-in-law, Sue Carrico, and his extended family, the Carricos, Molloys, and Stanwoods, will dearly miss him. The Marcus Marauder Family, as well as countless coaches and athletes, are mourning the loss of Coach T.
On October 26, 2002, Steve had a heart attack that left him without a heartbeat for over 20 minutes. The family is so grateful for these bonus 18 years and have great peace that he is now home with his Lord, Jesus Christ, seeing the beauty of Heaven, once again. We know it is well with his soul.
A memorial service will be held as soon as we are able. Please watch here, as well as the Facebook page of Sarah Atwater, for further details.
