Obituary

Steven Wayne Amos, 64, passed away peacefully on June 28, 2023, at his home in Denton, TX after years of ill health. He was born on November 7, 1958, to George Denver Amos and Mary Jo Watkins Amos. He grew up in Denton, the youngest of five children, and worked at the family Shell Service Station. He moved to Vancouver, Washington, where he worked on the Columbia River as a tugboat deck hand. He later moved to San Antonio, TX and studied psychology at San Antonio College. He eventually moved back to his hometown of Denton, where he was a loving caretaker for his mother in her last years.

Steven was a talented musician who sang and played guitar, keyboard and numerous instruments. He recorded music to post online for the enjoyment of family and friends.

Steven was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, David C. Amos. He is survived by his sister, Karen Heenan and husband Patrick Heenan of Winthrop, WA his sister Virginia (Ginger) Sanderson and husband Robert Sanderson of Mesquite, TX his brother Paul Amos and wife Della Amos of Vancouver, WA, his sister-in-law Susan Amos of Denton and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives.

He was loved by many friends and relatives and will be greatly missed.
