Stanford J Allen, age 88, of Lewisville, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday,

March 19, 2008.

He was born March 27, 1919 in Hooks, Texas to Paul Jackson Allen and Inez Almeda Dulaney Allen.

Stanford married Doris Lee Stewart on June 11, 1938 in Carrollton. He served over seas in the United States Navy (Seabees) during World War II. Stanford went to work for General Telephone in 1946 and retired with Verizon in 1981. He was a member of Lewisville Bible Church in Lewisville.

He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Doris; children, Stewart Allen and his wife, Phyllis, Connie Hopkins,

Steve Allen and his wife, Elaine, John Allen and his wife, Elaine, Danny Allen and his wife, Lisa and George Allen and his wife, Irasema; 16 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren; sister, Doris Crawford and her husband, Garland and brother, Paul Allen and wife, June. He was preceded in death by their beloved son, Don Allen in 1964.

Funeral service will be held 10:30 a.m. Saturday, March 22, 2008, at Lakeland Baptist Church in Lewisville. Interment will be at Old Hall Cemetery in Lewisville. In Lieu of flowers the family requests memorial contributions made to Lewisville Bible Church Building Fund or Mercy Hospice. Mulkey-Mason Funeral Home of Lewisville is in charge of arrangements.
