Sophie Maria Salas, 80, of Denton, passed way on Saturday, February 6, 2010 at her home. She was born October 26, 1929 in Buena Vista, New Mexico to Antonio and Gravielita (Mares) Pino She was married to Raymond Salas, Sr. on February 20, 1948 in Las Vegas, New Mexico, he died September 17, 2001. She was a homemaker and member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.

A mass of the Christian burial will be held at 11:00 A.M., on Friday, February 12, 2010 in the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 2255 N. Bonnie Brae, Denton with Msgr. Charles King, officiating. Burial will follow in the Roselawn Memorial Park. The family will be at the Mulkey-Mason, Jack Schmitz and Son Funeral Home, 705 N. Locust, Denton on Thursday, February 11, 2010 from 6 P.M. until 8 P.M. with a Rosary scheduled at 7 P. M.

Mrs. Salas is survived by six daughters, Dolores Gonzalez, Dorothy Ozuna, Joann Sarabia, Suzie Luna, of Denton, Rebecca Nolan, of Cleveland , OH, and Diana Burrola, of Marietta, OK five sons, Daniel Salas, Raymond Salas, Jr. Gilbert Salas, Charles Salas, and Johnny Salas, all of Denton, four sisters, Lila Sanchez, Rita Pino, Velma Duran, Isabel Pino, two brothers, Robert Pino, and Tony Pino, All of Buena Vista, New Mexico. Forty Two Grandchildren, Ninety One Great Grandchildren, and Eleven Great Great Grandchildren.
