Simon Cuellar, age 81, of Lewisville, Texas and former resident of San Antonio, passed away Tuesday, February 26, 2008, in Lewisville.

He was born April 19, 1926 in Turntract, Texas to Mateo Cuellar and Genoveva Cavazos. Simon served in the United States Army and the United States Navy during World War II and the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the Catholic Church.

He is survived by his daughters, Maria Gorena of Lewisville and Ruby Cuellar of San Antonio; sons, Simon Cuellar, Jr. and Mateo Cuellar both of San Antonio; 13 grandchildren and 2 brothers.

A graveside service will be held 2:15 p.m. Monday, March 3, 2008 at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio. The family will receive friends from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Chapel Hill Funeral Home in San Antonio prior to the service.
