Obituary

Sidney George, 76 of Sanger, died Friday, June 23, 2006 at his home. He was born February 3, 1930 in Denton County to John and Lucille Elizabeth (Erwin) George. He attended Public Schools in Sanger, and was a member of the Gribble Springs Baptist Church. He was married to Mary Lynn Riney on February 4, 1949 in Lewisville. He served as the Chief of Police in Sanger, and was retired from the Ford Motor Company. He was a member of the Bolivar Masonic Lodge of Sanger.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, June 25, 2006 in the Gribble Springs Baptist Church, 6933 F M #2164, Sanger, TX with Rev. Dan Sparkman, and Rev. Johnny George, officiating. Burial will follow in the Gribble Springs Cemetery. The family will be at the Mulkey-Mason, Jack Schmitz and Son Funeral Home 705 N. Locust, Denton, for visitation on Saturday, June 24, 2006 from 6:00 until 7:30 P.M.

Mr. George is survived by his wife, Mary Lynn George, of Sanger, daughter and son in law, Toni and Benny Erwin, of Sanger, son and daughter in law, Vic and Betty George, of Krum , Grandchildren, David Erwin, John Erwin, Jake George, Alicia Sparkman, great grandchildren, Kade Erwin, Gavin Erwin, Ryan Erwin, and Braden Sparkman, three sisters, Johnie Meador, of Carrollton, Margaret Jones, and Ruthie Bryson, of Sanger, and three brothers, Kenneth George, DeWayne George, and Billy Wayne George, all of Sanger. He was preceded in death by one grandson, Wesley Erwin, and parents and Five Brothers and Sisters..
