Shirley Louise Sickles left the world to be with our Lord at her home on Saturday November 19, 2005. She was born in Detroit, Michigan to Charles and Laura (Whittaker) Lietz on May 9, 1926. She was married to Clifford (Pop) Sickles on October 27, 1945 in Detroit, MI. They were married for 60 wonderful years. She enjoyed the "Red Hat Society" and being with her many dear friends at the Senior Center in Denton. She is survived by her husband, Cliff (Pop) Sickles of Denton; one sister, Dorothy Howard and husband Lee of Dearborn Heights, Michigan; three daughters, Donna Casey and husband Tim of Kerrville, TX, Marge Sickles of Denton, TX, Bonnie Owens and husband Ron of Aubrey, TX; four grandchildren, Kim Goode and husband Kipper, Angela Alvey and husband Bryan, Steven Owens and wife Stephanie, Shawn Casey and wife Dawn; seven great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a sister, Bernadine Coffman and a brother, Alden Lietz. Visitation will be held from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Monday November 21 at the funeral home. A funeral service will be held at 9:30 AM Tuesday November 22, 2005 in the chapel of Mulkey-Mason, Jack Schmitz and Son Funeral Home. Rev. Gary Sweatman will officiate the service. In lieu of flowers, please make memorials to the Senior Center Woodshop, 509 N. Bell Ave., Denton, TX 76201. Mulkey-Mason, Jack Schmitz and Son Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
