Shirley Viola Chasteen (Scott), of Denton, passed away at home, surrounded by family, on January 23, 2017.
Shirley was born at home on June 30, 1940 to Alice and Andrew Scott. She married Jerry Lee Chasteen on August 16, 1958 in Denton, TX.  She was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great great-grandmother. Her life revolved around her family, and there was nothing she enjoyed more than spending time with all of them.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Andrew E. Scott and Alice M. Scott (Cunningham); Husband, Jerry Lee Chasteen; Sisters, Bernice Leal and Mary Belle Matheson; and Grandson, Jake Kerbow.
Survivors include three sisters Geraldine (Leo) Puente, Darlene (Bob) Gray, and Glenda Robles; two brothers, Eddie W. (Cathy) Scott, and Ray Scott; four daughters, Katherine (David) Kerbow, Charlotte (Jerry) Miller, Brenda (Jack) Kerbow, and Jenni Frei; One son, Kennie (Tammy) Chasteen; 11 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and 2 great, great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Thursday January 26, 2017 in the Mulkey-Bowles-Montgomery Funeral Chapel, 705 N. Locust, Denton.  Visitation will be on Thursday, January 26, from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. before the service. Burial will follow at Roselawn Cemetery.
