Sherman Allen Pruett, Sr., 67, of Corinth, passed away on Friday, March 7, 2008 at Presbyterian Hospital of Denton. He was born October 8, 1940 in Slidell, TX to Charlie Allen and Stella O'Dell (Dempsey) Pruett. He was a graduate of Denton High School, and attended Cooke County College, and was the Owner of Pruett Construction Company. He was married to Sandra Pope on February 6, 1959 in Gainesville, TX. He was a member of the Southmont Baptist Church, and United Commercial Travelers.

A funeral service will be held at 10 A.M. Monday, March 10, 2008 in the Chapel of Mulkey-Mason, Jack Schmitz and Son Funeral Home, 705 N. Locust, Denton, with Dr. Larry Reynolds and Rev. Jimmy White, officiating. Burial will follow in the Old Shiloh Cemetery in Flower Mound. The family will be at the Funeral Home for visitation from 4 P.M. until 6 P.M. on .Sunday, March 9, 2008 for visitation.

Mr. Pruett is survived by his wife, Sandra of Corinth; two sons and daughters-in-law, Sherman Allen, Jr. and Judy Pruett of Sanger, and Steve and Paula Pruett of Corinth and his grandchildren, Shannon Nichols, Brandon Pruett, Brandi Pruett, Bridgett Pruett, Tyler Pruett, Austin Pruett, and Chance Pruett; a great granddaughter, Gabriella Vasquez, and a sister, Cornelia Brockett of Aubrey, and a brother, Robert E. Pruett of Denton, and other extended family. He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters, Janice Pruett, Edna Pruett, and Charlene Moss, and a daughter-in-law Mandy Pruett.
