Sheri Lyn Plankey, 53, of Rhome, died Sunday, December 28, 2014 at Clements University Medical Center in Dallas of complications with leukemia.
Sheri was born on November 18, 1961 in Houston, TX to Joseph Byrd and Carol Sue (Waterman) Wilson, Jr. She graduated from the University of North Texas with a Bachelors of Science in Education. She married David Plankey on June 21, 1980 in North Richland Hills. She retired in May 2013 after teaching for the Birdwell ISD for twenty-nine years.
She is survived by her husband, David Plankey of Rhome; daughter, Rachel Hartzler and her husband Michael of Denton; sons, Jeremy David Plankey of Denver, CO, Caleb Allen Plankey of Rhome; mother, Carol Sue Wilson of Denton; brothers, Daniel Wilson and his wife Cathy of Haslet, Jeff Wilson and his wife Tamara of Sanger; grandson, Michael David Hartzler. She was preceded in death by her father Joe Wilson and sister, Dianna Glover.
A visitation will be held from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Thursday, January 1, 2015 at Mulkey-Mason Funeral Home in Denton. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, January 2, 2015 at the Argyle Church of Christ. Interment will follow at Thurmond Fairview Cemetery in New Fairview, TX. David Berryman will officiate the service.
