Shelby Nicole Rather, 23, of Fort Worth, passed away on Saturday, October 2, 2021 at her home in Fort Worth.

Shelby was born on March 23, 1998 in Houston. She graduated Magna Cum Laude from Texas Woman's University with a Bachelor of Science degree. She was currently working as a waitress for Razzoo's Cajun Cafe and dreamed of becoming a teacher.

Shelby is survived by her mother, Rebecca (Rather) Dunn and her husband Brandon of Krum; sister, Phoebe Rosado of Krum; brother, Haidyn Jones of Krum; grandmother, Barbara (Rather) Grigsby and her husband Duane of Nacogdoches; grandfather, William Rather III and his wife Veronica of The Woodlands; aunt Bonnie (Rather) Ledesma and her husband Jay and cousins, Sophia, Aria, Lillia and Luka of Cypress; uncle William Rather IV and his wife Jasna and cousin Izabel of Fort Worth; boyfriend Melton Collins and pet Nalah of Fort Worth.

A visitation will be held from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Friday, October 8, 2021 at the funeral home. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, October 9, 2021 in the chapel of Mulkey-Bowles-Montgomery Funeral Home, 705 N. Locust St., Denton.
