SELMA LOU WHITE

Selma Lou White, , 85 of Denton, passed away Tuesday, March 29, 2011, at her residence at Lake Forest Good Samaritan Village in Denton, Texas. She was born July 31, 1925 in Chillicothe, Texas to Horace Clinton and Minnie (Anderson) Leath. She attended Draughn's Business School in Wichita Falls and married Robert E. White on September 17, 1949, also in Wichita Falls. Their 61 years of marriage included his service in the US Air Force, and residences in San Marcos, Texas, as well as Oklahoma and California. Selma was an executive secretary in the downtown Los Angeles office of Bank of America until 1981. She was a member of Beta Sigma Phi and active in her church choir..

Mrs. White is survived by her husband Robert E. White of Denton, Daughter and son in law Donna and David Perley of Argyle, three sisters, Mary Leath, Bernice Leath, and Bobbie Jessel, all of Wichita Fallas, aid three Grandchildren, Sarah Perley, Megan Perley, and Jason Perley.

Funeral service will be at 1 pm Saturday, April 2, 2011 at The Church of Corinth, 3201 A Tower Ridge, Corinth, Texas, with Jeff Williams officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park in Denton. The family will be at Mulkey-Mason, Jack Schmitz & Son Funeral Home, 705 N. Locust St. Denton, on Thursday evening, March 31, from 6-8 pm to receive friends and family.
