Sean Robert Branson, age 16, of Flower Mound, TX, passed away, Saturday, April 19, 2008.

He was born on April 25, 1991 in Austell, Georgia to Robert and Maria Branson and spent the first four weeks of life in the NICU at Cobb General Hospital due to being born 7 weeks premature.  This was where his fighting spirit was first witnessed.

During his kindergarten year, his family moved to Flower Mound, where he attended Flower Mound Elementary, Lamar Middle School, and Marcus High School.  Sean was a member of Creekwood Christian Church in Flower Mound, where he was baptized in Christ.

Sean was a sophomore at Marcus High School and participated in MHS Band as a clarinetist.  He was a member of the 2006 State Championship Marching Band as well as the 2007 San Antonio BOA Super Regional Champion.  He was also a member of the MHS Wind Symphony during its performance at the Midwest Clinic in Chicago this past December.  These three achievements, as well as simply hanging out with his band friends, brought him great joy.

Sean was a very good student who received many academic acknowledgements during his short life.  At Marcus, he was in the top ten percent of his class (2010) and was up for consideration for membership in the National Honor Society.  At Lamar, he was a member of the Lamar Band and the National Junior Honor Society.  As a seventh grader, he received Grand Recognition in the Duke Talent Identification Program.  As a sixth grader, Sean won the Lamar Spelling Bee, the LISD Spelling Bee, and finished second in the Denton County Bee.  At Flower Mound Elementary he took part in the LEAP Program.

His favorite hobbies were reading, listening to music, and playing video games.

Sean's happiest times were those spent with family and friends, always laughing.

Survivors include his parents, Robert and Maria Branson and sister, Kelsey Branson all of Flower Mound, TX; grandmother, Karen Benson also of Flower Mound; aunts and uncles, Carol and Ed McCormack of Fishkill, NY, Bill and Carolyn Branson of Powder Springs, GA, Mary and Mike Mills of Florissant, MO, Tom and Barbara Branson of Flower Mound, TX, Deidre and Jeff Brickner of Cincinnati, OH, and Lora and Jesse Wilson of Ada, OK; cousins, Christie McCormack, Colleen McCormack, Michael McCormack, Maggie Jones, Sarah Branson, Megan Mills, Katie Mills, Andy Mills, Christopher Branson, Patrick Branson, Joey Branson, Aaron Brickner, Abby Brickner, Bradon Wilson and Gavin Wilson. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Roger Benson and grandparents, Joseph and Margaret Branson.
