Scott Allen Hoit was born on May 8, 1959 in Kansas City, Missouri. He was living in Denton, Texas at the time of his death on July 21, 2021.
He was preceded in death by his father, Stanley Hoit and his mother, Patricia Felzien Hoit. He is survived by his sister, Gayle Hoit, also of Denton and an uncle, Ross Woodbury from St. Joseph, MO and an aunt, Jan Felzien who lives in Raytown, MO. as well as numerous cousins and friends.
Following graduation from Jefferson City Missouri High School in 1977, he joined the Marine Corps where he served as a helicopter mechanic during his 4 years. He then attended Central Missouri State University in Warrensburg, Missouri. He worked in various jobs including a machinist and was employed at Linkup International in Roanoke Texas prior to his death. Scott was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Denton as well as the American Legion.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 14, 2021 at 11 a.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 703 N. Elm St. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the memorial fund at St. Paul Lutheran Church or the charity of your choice.
